The vast majority of men seem to be consistent with the size and thickness of your penis, however there are those who really are very interested in improving their physical appearance and are looking for the way to achieve it by means of medical treatment and external elongating. There is lengthening surgery know as, “Phalloplasty” this optional surgery allows the masculine member s appearance to be longer and more thickset. There is a portion of the penis, located just at its base, which is internally “hidden” at the level of the pubic bone. This ligamentous union given by the suspensory ligament of the penis is the key of any technique of Phalloplasty.  There are several techniques, with different approaches and methods contributing to achieve a better result. Pubic and scrotal approaches have been described, combined with Z- PLASTY or rotation flaps; however each technique must be individualized for each case in particular. Dr. Camacho-Melo performs his technique with natural spacers using the patient’s own tissue, which helps prevent the retraction process.

Dr. Camacho Melo does not use spacers or prosthesis of silicone in any Phalloplasty procedure.  The maximum gain that could be achieved in increase in length is approximately 5 cm (2 inches), as well as the average gain with thickening of the penile perimeter is similar. The pubis approach is the most requested, the V/Y technique where the pubic area takes advantage joining lengthening, leaving less retention at its base. We agree with the use of external elongating or stretching before, during and after Phalloplasty. It is recommended that after the procedure the patient continues stretching or using the traction device to avoid retention of the scarred tissue at the base of the penis.

Thickening of the penis can be performed with the patient`s own fat graft, known as Dermo-graft or Belladerm which is treated tissue. Dr. Camacho-Melo does not use PMMA for thickening.  Phalloplasty is not performed on patients who have a problem with erections.
